Troubleshooting

  • Resolve pod failures such as CrashLoopBackOff, ImagePullBackOff, OOMKilled, pending pods, scheduling failures, and probe failures.
  • Diagnose DNS, service discovery, pod networking, service exposure, and network policy issues.
  • Debug CNI issues involving Calico, Cilium, Flannel, Azure CNI, or AWS VPC CNI.
  • Troubleshoot persistent storage, PV/PVC binding, StorageClass, CSI driver, volume mount, and StatefulSet persistence problems.
  • Resolve ingress controller, TLS, routing, load balancing, disk pressure, memory pressure, kubelet, and autoscaler issues.

Security and Automation

  • Manage RBAC, service accounts, network policies, pod security controls, secrets, external secret stores, image scanning, and Kubernetes CIS benchmark compliance.
  • Contribute to cluster architecture, multi-tenancy, namespace strategy, resource quotas, limits, and capacity planning.
  • Maintain Helm charts, Kustomize overlays, GitOps workflows, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD integrations, and observability stacks.
  • Manage service mesh configurations where applicable for traffic management, mTLS, and observability.
  • Document runbooks, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and knowledge base articles.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-9 years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes administration or engineering.
  • Strong kubectl skills and knowledge of the Kubernetes object model.
  • Deep troubleshooting experience across pods, networking, storage, and ingress.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes control plane architecture and etcd operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CKA or CKS certification is preferred.
  • Platform design, service mesh, API gateway, managed Kubernetes, cost optimization, autoscaling, and chaos engineering experience are advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently under SLA pressure are required.
