Lead Core Application Support Engineer

Job Purpose

Strategic & People Leadership

• Translate departmental strategy into actionable plans and ensure alignment across teams.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Core Application Support Engineers, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Manage performance, talent development, and adherence to organizational values.
• Oversee departmental budgeting and ensure cost‑effective operations.

Core Application Management

• Lead the design and execution of the core application roadmap aligned with business needs.
• Oversee incident, problem, and service request management, ensuring timely resolution and SLA compliance.
• Act as the escalation point for critical issues and complex application incidents.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Optimize support workflows, introduce automation, and improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, configurations, and knowledge base articles.

It Application Quality Assurance

• Oversee installation, upgrades, maintenance, and configuration of application components and virtual servers.
• Ensure reliable operations of systems, including trading, clearing, and CSD platforms.
• Define troubleshooting standards and ensure accurate diagnostics and issue documentation.
• Manage data protection, backups, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
• Monitor capacity, storage, and database performance for core applications.
• Ensure replication and DR site synchronization for business continuity.
• Prepare technical documentation for technology evaluations and upgrades.

Application Security & Governance

• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Support security testing and vulnerability assessments for core applications.
• Enforce governance standards during system upgrades, fixes, and enhancements.
• Maintain accurate SOPs, technical guides, and support documentation.
• Oversee procurement of licenses and ensure adherence to ITIL practices.

Project & Stakeholder Management

• Lead application‑related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, trading, clearing, and settlement teams.
• Manage vendor relationships, SLAs, performance evaluations, and contract negotiations.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and senior management.

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management

• Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, automation, and cost reduction.
• Lead change management for application updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Ensure compliance with risk, QHSE, and business continuity standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• **8+ years**
• in securities/stock exchange or similar environments, with
• 4+ years in managerial roles

• Expertise in trading, clearing, settlement, and market‑data systems.
• Strong knowledge of ITSM, incident management, monitoring tools, and ITIL frameworks.
• Proven experience improving system stability, performance, and reliability.
