Laundry Team Leader

Guest Laundry Services

• Collect and deliver guest laundry and dry-cleaning items punctually and professionally.
• Verify laundry lists, guest names, room numbers and item counts to avoid discrepancies.
• Inspect garments for damage, stains and items left in pockets before processing.
• Follow guest instructions for folding, starching and pressing garments.

Equipment and Processing

• Mark dry-cleaning items correctly and check garments for colorfastness and damage.
• Refill chemicals, clean filters and service machines as needed.
• Operate, load and unload dry-cleaning machines with the correct load amount.
• Operate laundry machines according to specifications and separate damaged or stained articles.

Organization and Records

• Fold cleaned articles and stack them by type and size in designated areas.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, equipment, supply closets and linen storage areas.
• Inspect linen closets for correct linen par levels and shelf labeling.
• Maintain accurate laundry and dry-cleaning poundage records.

Safety and Reporting

• Follow fire, safety and emergency procedures, including equipment shutdown and emergency meeting-point instructions.
• Report faulty equipment, damaged garments or linens, shortages, maintenance needs and safety hazards to the Laundry Manager.
• Control the correct use of chemicals and follow safety measures at all times.

Schedule Expectations

• Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, may be required.

• Ability to supervise, train and inspect Laundry Attendants, Washers, Pressers and Uniform Attendants.
• Ability to operate laundry services, dry-cleaning equipment and related machines according to specifications.
• Knowledge of fire, safety and emergency procedures and ability to follow them at all times.
• Ability to work productively under pressure and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Ability to inspect garments for damage, stains, pocket items and colorfastness before processing.
• Ability to maintain accurate guest laundry records, item counts and dry-cleaning poundage records.
• Ability to follow departmental procedures, service standards and hotel quality requirements.
