The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laundry department, ensuring that all linens, uniforms, garments, and laundry items are cleaned, processed, and delivered according to quality standards and operational requirements.
The role includes supervising laundry staff, maintaining equipment, monitoring inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of laundry attendants and operators.
- Ensure proper sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution of laundry items.
- Monitor laundry quality standards and take corrective action when necessary.
- Schedule and assign work duties to laundry staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Train new employees on laundry procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
- Maintain adequate inventory of detergents, chemicals, linen, uniforms, and other supplies.
- Inspect laundry equipment regularly and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
- Track laundry production volumes and prepare operational reports.
- Handle guest, customer, or departmental complaints related to laundry services and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor labor productivity and assist in controlling departmental costs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to team members.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of clean and soiled linen according to established procedures.
Qualificationseducation
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational training or certification in laundry operations, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of laundry operations experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in a hotel, hospital, commercial laundry, or similar environment preferred.
- Pay: QAR2,000.00 - QAR2,700.00 per month
