Role Overview
- Stantec is looking to hire a Land Surveyor to support projects associated with stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks and water distribution networks.
- The role involves undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction monitoring.
Key Accountabilities Technical Delivery
- Supervises/conducts field surveys as per project requirements and deliver in accordance with company/client requirements and guidelines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to oversee and manage survey aspects of site construction activities.
- Provide support to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
- Perform duties in accordance with the company's highest quality expectations, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Liaise with other agencies (Consultants/Contractors) to coordinate the survey work.
- Prepare neat sketches to support the fieldwork.
- Preserve all the survey information (field books, sketches & calculations).
- Perform any other essential duties that the immediate superior may assign from time to time.
- Perform the work in Total Station and their associated software.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.
- Conduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations.
- Experience in identifying non conforming works, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Client Service Management
- Internal and external client liaison.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
- Experience in utility diversions and management.
Safety and Quality
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
- Design for safety, i.e., Construction Design Management.
Other Duties
- Other duties as requested from time to time by the Assistant Resident Engineer.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Land Surveying
- Minimum 10 years experience in a similar level role.
- Experienced in Infrastructure survey inspection & Supervision work.
- Dubai Infrastructure project experience is an added advantage.
- Full and complete knowledge in Auto CAD, Total Station & other related software.
