Responsibilities
- Prepare concept, preliminary and detailed designs for wet infrastructure
- Review, organize and analyze collected data
- Develop design briefs and Basis of Design technical notes
- Carry out hydraulic modeling using recognized modeling software
- Perform design calculations and develop design reports
- Develop and oversee design drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities
- Develop cost estimates
- Collaborate with peer engineers and other discipline teams
- Liaise with sub consultants and sub contractors
- Organize and attend meetings with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
- 12 15 years of experience in master planning and design of large scale wet infrastructure
- Working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, InfoWater, InfoSewer, WaterGems, SewerGems, InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks WS
- Experience in civil design of sewerage, stormwater and pressurized systems
- Hydraulic design/modelling experience in sewerage, stormwater and pressurized systems
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken
- Ability to work independently with ad hoc support
- Willingness to be based on site or client office

Description
- Stantec is currently looking for a Civil Design Engineer to work on projects associated with wet infrastructure, i.e. wastewater, stormwater, potable water and recycled water systems, water and wastewater treatment system, and flood management and water resources management studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare concept, preliminary and detailed designs for wet infrastructure
- Review, organize and analyze collected data
- Develop design briefs and Basis of Design technical notes
- Carry out hydraulic modeling using recognized modeling software
- Perform design calculations
- Develop design reports
- Develop and oversee design drawings
- Develop specifications and bill of quantities
- Develop cost estimates
- Collaboration and working as part of a team
- Liaise with other discipline teams and/or teams working remotely
- Liaise with sub consultants and sub contractors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
- 12 15 years of experience in master planning and design of large scale wet infrastructure
- Working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, InfoWater, InfoSewer, WaterGems, SewerGems, InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks WS, etc.
- Willingness and experience in carrying out civil design of sewerage, stormwater and pressurized systems
- Hydraulic design / modelling experience in sewerage, stormwater and pressurized systems
- Ability to work independently receiving only ad hoc support from the main office
- Willingness to be based on site or client office to carry out design work independently

- Rigorous attention to detail
- Flexible attitude to accepting different work assignments
- Experienced with wet infrastructure design standards in GCC Countries
- Experienced with local and international guidelines/standards/codes
- Ability to work on bids
- International working experience preferred
- Excellent command in English both written and spoken
- Arabic language skills preferred
- Ability to manage a heavy workload
- Ability to make decisions independently
