- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, process specimens, and operate diagnostic equipment in accordance with established protocols
- Prepare reagents and samples, ensure accurate and timely test results, and document findings in the laboratory information system
- Maintain laboratory equipment, monitor supplies, and support quality control and quality assurance activities
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment
- Follow strict safety and infection control guidelines
Requirements
- Strong laboratory skills, including specimen handling, test performance, and adherence to standard operating procedures
- Experience working with laboratory equipment and instruments, including operation, calibration, and basic troubleshooting
- Knowledge of quality control practices and laboratory quality assurance processes
- Well developed analytical skills to interpret test results, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues appropriately
- Recognized qualification or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field; relevant professional certification or licensure as required by local regulations
- Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred
- Understanding of infection prevention, safety standards, and proper handling of biological specimens and hazardous materials
- Strong attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team based environment
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is an advantage
- Willingness to work shifts or extended hours as needed to support patient care services

Role Description
