Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient samples
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting
- Ensure accurate and timely analysis of patient samples
- Follow established protocols and support quality control and quality assurance procedures
- Document results in laboratory information systems and report critical findings to clinicians
- Collect and prepare specimens
- Adhere to safety and infection control standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other laboratory team members
- Contribute to process improvements and participate in internal audits
- Support training of new staff when needed
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
- Relevant professional licensure or eligibility as required by local regulations
- Strong laboratory practice and technical proficiency
- Hands on experience with laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Solid analytical skills to interpret test results and validate data
- Knowledge of quality control processes and quality assurance standards
- Understanding of safety, biosafety, and infection prevention protocols
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is an advantage

Role Description
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, operate and maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure accurate, timely analysis of patient samples.
- Follow established protocols, support quality control and quality assurance procedures, document results in laboratory information systems, and report critical findings to clinicians.
- Daily activities include specimen collection and preparation, calibration and troubleshooting of instruments, adherence to safety and infection control standards, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other laboratory team members.
- Contribute to process improvements, participate in internal audits, and support training of new staff when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory practice and technical proficiency, including core laboratory skills and familiarity with laboratory medicine principles.
- Hands on experience with laboratory equipment, including operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret test results, validate data, and identify discrepancies.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and quality assurance standards within clinical laboratory settings.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field, with relevant professional licensure or eligibility as required by local regulations.
- Understanding of safety, biosafety, and infection prevention protocols in healthcare environments.
- Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting, particularly in a hospital or multi specialty medical center, is an advantage.
