About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented L2 Network & Security Engineer to join our infrastructure and security operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of our network and security environment by handling escalations, managing change requests, and proactively maintaining infrastructure performance and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience across a broad range of technologies including firewalls, load balancers, proxies, VPN, wireless networks, and security appliances. Key Responsibilities: Daily Operational Oversight: Supervise and ensure completion of L1 activities including: Daily health checks of network/security infrastructure. Monitoring and reporting VPN access and user activities. Provisioning and revoking VPN access. Managing support mailboxes and ticket escalations. Maintaining and updating SOPs for incident handling. Assisting with basic hardware support and replacements. Engineering & Support Activities: Review and implement daily firewall and proxy change requests. Analyze, open, and clean up firewall flows; remove unused or obsolete rules. Configure and maintain firewall routes, NAT rules, DDoS protections, and IP reservations. Conduct sanity checks for firewall and NAT configurations to ensure consistency and security. Manage application publishing and URL exposures on F5 load balancer. Perform SSL certificate updates and removals on F5 devices. Coordinate and execute changes aligned with incident, service request, and project requirements. Provide on-call support on an alternate weekly basis for high-priority incidents. Decommission or reconfigure obsolete devices and update related firewall groups. Technology Environment: You will be working in a heterogeneous environment involving: Firewalls: Fortigate , Checkpoint Network Infrastructure: Cisco Switches & Routers VPN: User provisioning, access control, and monitoring Load Balancer: F5 (including SSL & application publishing) Proxy: McAfee Web Gateway Wi-Fi: WNCL-SM (Wireless Network Controller Layer - basic support) Monitoring & Observability: SolarWinds, Tufin (basic familiarity) Required Skills & Qualifications: 5 -8 years of experience in a Network and Security Operations role. Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and security principles. Experience managing Checkpoint firewalls and F5 load balancers in a production environment. Solid hands-on knowledge of VPN provisioning and user management. Familiarity with incident and change management processes (ITIL preferred).
