The Project ReSet program is a psychosocial support program that supports individuals & families who are at risk of or involved in targeted violence associated with hate, bias, or extremist ideology.
The T4C program works with individuals engaged in or involved with street-level violence.
This role works with two different populations and has two main functions, and each will be prioritized to meet team needs.
As a caseworker in the Project ReSet & T4C programs, you will provide responsive, individualized case management and wraparound support and services in the community and/or institutions.
Services are person- centered, and so, the needs, strengths, and goals of the individual guide the intervention plan.
The goal is to enhance protective factors, reduce risk and vulnerability factors, and improve community connection.
The Knowledge Mobilization aspect relates to researching, developing, and facilitating education sessions, training, or groups, as needed, to a wide range of community partners, agencies, professionals, institutions, and clients.
Travel throughout Eastern Ontario is required regularly.
If you’re right for this role, you’ll be natural at:
• Understanding and working with individuals who face multiple barriers, both at a systemic and individual level (mental health, justice involvement, substance use, history of trauma).
• Building rapport and engage with participants and their families to develop and design strategic interventions for those who are involved in or at risk of targeted violence.
• Researching, developing and facilitating education sessions, training, and groups, with professionals and participants.
• Speaking in public, engaging with the community, families, law enforcement partners, and other professionals.
• Taking initiative, adapting to ever-changing demands and priorities, working under tight timelines, being extremely organized, and having strong communication skills to support the overall position.
You'll stand out if you have...
• Thorough understanding and experience applying Cognitive Behavioural, Social Learning, and Social- Ecological approaches, as well as Motivational Interviewing.
• Understanding of trauma and its implications for those individuals intended for thisproject.
• An understanding of the process of radicalization and factors that may lead someone to become radicalized.
• An understanding of the process or factors leading to involvement in street-levelviolence.

SALARY: $ 53,633- $ 72,217 per annum based on experience
