In this role, you will:

Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies

Provide field support in areas such as: processing fish, reading and collecting data, documenting and taking pictures, dip netting, flow and YSI readings, etc.

Assist with creating promotional videos and presentations, filing and tracking reviews, SharePoint organization, updating and editing documents, guidelines, and procedures, truck maintenance, etc.

Complete Tidbit downloads and maintenance: recording data in apps and on field papers, pictures, temperature and depth readings, troubleshooting

Participate in spawning, electrofishing and angling population methods

Adhere to and supporting EVR's safety initiatives by supporting the development of the Environmental Health and Safety Committee (EHSC), tracking contractor safety hours, participating in toolbox talks and presenting safety shares

Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business

Requirements:

  • Working towards an Undergraduate degree or diploma in Fisheries Management, Marine Biology or an Environmental degree or diploma with relevant fisheries courses
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictions
  • Able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outdoors
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels and partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
