In this role you will:
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers-in-Training as part of a collaborative team environment
Execute on a wide range of mine planning including pit, spoil, haulage and closure design while considering potential sustainable development impacts
Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to estimated coal blending results
Influence strong site decision making through detailed data analysis and sound mining practices
Perform economic evaluations, long range capital consolidation, productivity analyses, strategic planning assessments, and peer reviews
Communicate mine development projects to the permitting groups within the business unit. Assist in developing mine permit applications and amendments and ensure mine plans are following permit compliance
Participate in the development of annual reserves and resource reporting
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum five years of experience in mine planning
- Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) as a Professional Engineer
- Proficiency in mine scheduling software such as XPAC Solutions, and mine design software such as Minesight 3D
- Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite®
- Motivated self-starter, able to work under minimal supervision
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
- For applicants registered as an EIT or GIT, annual base salary will be determined by EVR's formal progression matrix based on verified relevant years of experience.
