Job Purpose

  • The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing first and second level technical support to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of the company's IT systems and network infrastructure.
  • This role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues, maintaining system performance, and ensuring smooth day to day IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Offer first and second level technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Monitor and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, servers, and other IT equipment.
  • Install, update, and configure software applications on Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Manage Active Directory objects, such as user accounts, groups, and organizational units.
  • Administer Windows and Linux based systems, including user account management, permissions, file systems, and security configurations.
  • Document solutions to common problems and maintain a knowledge base.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and certifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, with a focus on networking, Windows systems, and Linux administration.
  • Strong understanding of network concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Hands on experience with Linux systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat), including user management, system updates, shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper V.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer centric approach with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to document processes, solutions, and user guides.
  • Availability to work shifts (including nights, weekends, legal holidays).
