The IT Support Officer is a part-time, hybrid role based in Abu Dhabi with flexibility for some work from home.
The role provides day-to-day technical support to staff in a newsroom and office environment.
Technical support
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Maintain desktop computers and support printers and peripheral devices.
- Ensure newsroom and office systems operate efficiently.
- Manage user accounts and respond to support tickets.
- Document incidents and resolutions and escalate complex issues when necessary.
IT operations
- Assist with basic system updates and asset inventory.
- Contribute to a secure and reliable IT environment supporting digital news operations.
Qualifications
- Strong technical support and troubleshooting skills are required.
- A solid understanding of operating systems, basic networking, and security best practices is required.
- Hands-on desktop computer installation, configuration, and maintenance experience is required.
- Practical printer support experience, including driver installation and error resolution, is required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly are required.
- The candidate must be able to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant IT, computer science, or related education or certification, such as CompTIA A+ or ITIL, is preferred.
- Media or digital publishing experience is advantageous but not required.
