- Develop and execute comprehensive audit plans focused on financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance within catering operations
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls related to food safety, inventory management, waste reduction, and procurement in catering environments
- Investigate potential instances of fraud, waste, and abuse within catering service delivery and supply chain processes
- Evaluate adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations specific to food handling and service in catering
- Analyze cost structures and profitability of various catering services, identifying areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement
- Conduct surprise audits of inventory levels, stock rotation, and wastage to ensure accuracy and prevent shrinkage
- Review contracts with suppliers and clients to ensure terms are met and financial implications are accurately recorded
- Test the integrity of sales data, cash handling procedures, and point of sale systems in catering outlets
- Provide actionable recommendations to management for improving controls, operational processes, and financial performance in the catering sector
- Prepare detailed audit reports, communicating findings and proposed solutions clearly and concisely to senior leadership
