- Prepare design specifications for Instrumentation & Control works

- Identify and report changes to project scope
- Assist with preparation of detailed designs, drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports
- Provide assistance during procurement, construction and commissioning activities
- Coordinate review and approval of design and interfaces on client requirements and specifications
Requirements
- Full Time Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 8 years Instrumentation & Control engineering experience in oil and gas for offshore and onshore projects
- MME engineering accreditation or willingness to achieve within probation
- Good knowledge of applicable local standards and statutory/regulatory requirements
- Competent in relevant software and discipline specific software (e.g., SPI, Intools)
- Experience in brown fields & asset services type projects/contracts
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking same is an advantage
- Functional Safety Engineering certification from TUV or EXIDA is advantageous

Primary Objectives / Responsibilities
- Performs routine engineering, design, analysis or other technical tasks utilizing current technology and available standards, templates and catalogued products with supervision.
- Supports adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
- Ensures recognised onshore & offshore engineering practices applicable to Instrumentation & Control design engineering are adopted.
- Prepares design specifications for Instrumentation & Control works.
- Knows the discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines.
- Supports management of project change and progressing for the discipline.
- Plans discipline quality, monitors quality activities, drives and participates in squad checking.
- Provide technical support within the discipline team, liaise with the project team, and consult with relevant resources as required.
- Coordinate review and approval of design and interfaces on client requirements and specifications.
- Gathers data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies, analyses, calculations, etc.
- Creates final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues customer approval.
Job Specific Knowledge
- Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment.
- Has an intermediate understanding of regulations, codes and industry standard practices.
- Experience in brown fields & asset services type project / contracts.
- Effective technical and practical engineering skills, able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
- Good working knowledge of fundamental requirements of Instrumentation & Control discipline and basic requirements of other disciplines.
- Good working knowledge of applicable local standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Competent in the use of relevant software and Instrumentation & Control discipline specific software.
- Good design experience on systems such as DCS, ESD, FF, SCADA, Foundation Fieldbus, Telecoms and F&G systems.
- Familiarity with SHELL DEPs, BP recommend practices and International codes and standards.
- Shall be conversant with MS office. Valve sizing calculations, flow element sizing calculations.
- Exposure to Intools, experience in SPI and SIL studies and ability to provide input to control and shutdown narrative would be added advantage.
Industry Specific Experience
- Minimum 8 years Instrumentation & Control engineering experience in oil and gas for offshore and onshore projects.
- Minimum of 8 years engineering experience in the same or similar industry, including experience in multi disciplinary projects and teams.
- Good knowledge of discipline design/engineering with sufficient experience in different discipline areas.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
- Full Time Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering from an accredited university.
- MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.
- Functional Safety Engineering certification from TUV or EXIDA will be advantageous.

- Experience in Smart Plant / SPI.
- Familiar with Instrument sizing calculation software including control valve sizing, Orifice sizing, voltage drop calculations, Instrument air consumption calculations for pneumatic instruments, power consumption and heat dissipation calculation.
