Job Purpose

Provide technical assistance to the Inspection Team for pipeline, above-ground piping, and static equipment inspections.

Conduct non-destructive testing where required within the Pipeline Network Division.

Inspection and Technical Support

  • Perform inspections in accordance with inspection procedures, HSE systems, and maintenance and inspection policies.
  • Analyze IPS reports, assess pipeline condition, and perform dig verifications based on plans and IPS results.
  • Perform internal and external corrosion mapping and record dig verification data in PIMS.
  • Coordinate IPS, UT scanning, and corrosion monitoring activities with specialized contractors.
  • Follow up pipeline repairs, modifications, materials selection, welding inspection, painting, coating, and wrapping.
  • Perform visual inspections and UT thickness monitoring for above-ground piping.
  • Review field drawings and survey above-ground facilities for baseline UT work.
  • Inspect shutdowns, hot tapping, valve testing, PSV calibration, and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Participate in audits, project inspections, final walkdowns, and punch-list activities.
  • Maintain inspection files, work orders, radiograph records, and maintenance system data.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgy Technology, or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least five years of pipeline inspection and corrosion prevention experience in a large industrial organization, preferably oil and gas.
  • Knowledge of design, manufacturing, metallurgy, welding, standards, legislation, QA/QC, and inspection methods.
  • Knowledge of pipeline integrity best practices, technology trends, and HSE procedures.
  • Professional certifications such as AWS, CSWIP 3.1, API, NACE, BGAS, or Lead Auditor are preferable.
  • ASNT SNT-TC-1A NDT Level II in RT, UT, PT, and MT.
