Job Purpose

Develop cost-effective and value-added engineering solutions throughout projects.

Implement plant change management strategies in response to changing market conditions.

Provide technical expertise to project management activities across project phases.

Implement pipeline document management and control systems accurately.

Engineering Accountabilities

  • Ensure consultant and contractor designs comply with scope requirements and deliver safe, reliable, operable, and maintainable facilities.
  • Review and approve pipeline engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Develop engineering solutions and prepare in-house drawings, specifications, data sheets, and bills of quantities.
  • Support projects through engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary pipeline work and review tender packages.
  • Witness commissioning and follow up on commissioning records, spares, and maintenance manuals.

Pipeline Operations and Integrity

  • Plan and direct pigging operations and prepare monthly pigging schedules.
  • Coordinate routine chemical injection and batch treatment programs with corrosion personnel.
  • Audit operating procedures and philosophies to confirm network capability for transporting throughput from fields to terminal.
  • Manage pipeline route alignments and coordinate with pipeline departments.
  • Evaluate asset documents and implement pipeline document management and control systems.

Supervision

  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop assigned staff so they become proficient and deliver functional objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering, or a relevant professional qualification.
  • At least 6 years of pipeline engineering experience.
  • Full knowledge of HSE in plant and pipeline environments within a large industrial organization.
  • Knowledge of international pipeline, corrosion, and cathodic protection standards and codes.
  • Knowledge of pipeline industry best practices and technology trends, preferably in oil and gas.
  • Understanding of engineering disciplines, risk management, and loss prevention techniques.
  • Working knowledge of design, metallurgy, welding, standards, legislation, inspection methods, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Technical ability in engineering codes, standards, and inspection methods.

Professional Skills

  • Planning, organizing, scheduling, coordinating, checking, examining, and recording skills are required.

  • The role is based in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
