Responsibilities
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of IT environments through monitoring, automation, and regular patching
- Manage both physical hardware and virtualized/cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) to enable business continuity
- Install, configure, and update physical and virtual servers (e.g., Windows/Linux), storage systems, and networks
- Manage hybrid or multi cloud environments, including Azure or AWS infrastructure
- Use specialized tools to monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure optimal uptime
- Utilize scripting and infrastructure as code tools to automate provisioning, deployment, and configuration management
- Implement security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and patching schedules to protect data and infrastructure
- Establish backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity
- Act as an escalation point to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues
- Work with developers and IT teams to align infrastructure capabilities with application needs and company growth
- Proactively monitor and optimize network and system performance, including capacity planning and trend analysis
- Drive proactive issue resolution through root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive measures
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering
- Experience with virtualized/cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure)
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux server administration
- Knowledge of security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and patching
- Experience with backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery procedures
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and preventive measures
- Experience with scripting and infrastructure as code tools
- Government project experience is preferred
