Role Overview
The Information Security Specialist supports implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s information security program.
The role provides operational support for cybersecurity technologies and processes and coordinates with SOC and ICT teams on security events.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor alerts, review logs, and follow up on security events with SOC and ICT teams.
- Track vulnerability scan results, coordinate remediation, and maintain remediation status.
- Support incident response through triage, evidence collection, escalation, documentation, and follow-up.
- Maintain and monitor endpoint, email, DLP, SIEM, firewall, vulnerability scanning, and access control solutions.
- Perform access reviews and support identity and access management activities.
- Prepare security reports, dashboards, audit evidence, remediation trackers, and compliance documentation.
- Support security policies, standards, baselines, procedures, awareness communications, and phishing follow-up.
- Coordinate security requirements with infrastructure, systems, network, application, and business teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
- At least two years of practical experience in information security or related cybersecurity and ICT security functions.
- Understanding of information security principles, threats, risks, enterprise controls, SOC processes, monitoring, log analysis, and incident escalation.
- Familiarity with EDR, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, email security, firewalls, MFA, and IAM.
- Knowledge of secure configuration, system hardening, patch management, access control, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, and data protection requirements.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, risk assessment, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant associate-level security certification, such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900 or SC-200, ISO 27001 Foundation, or equivalent practical cybersecurity training, is preferred.
