About the Role

Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students in overcoming barriers to learning, both in and outside the classroom
- Promote pupil achievement through differentiated strategies tailored to individual needs
- Support implementation of strategies for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Liaise with parents to follow up on student absences and promote regular attendance
- Attend safeguarding meetings and maintain up to date safeguarding training
- Maintain daily communication with parents, carers, and external agencies to coordinate support
Requirements
- Diploma in Special Education or Bachelor's degree in Special Education, OR Bachelor's in any discipline with 1 year experience working with students with additional needs
- Minimum one year experience in supporting children with additional needs in a school setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft and web based programs

Job Purpose
- The Inclusion Assistant plays a vital role in supporting students with additional needs to fully access the curriculum and participate in all aspects of school life.
Key Responsibilities

- Develop positive, supportive relationships with pupils to foster confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Support the implementation of strategies for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

- Attend safeguarding meetings and maintain up to date safeguarding training.
- Maintain daily communication with parents, carers, and external agencies to coordinate support for students.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Special Education or Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
- OR Bachelor’s in any discipline with 1 year of experience working with students with additional needs.
Experience
- Minimum one year experience in supporting children with additional needs in a school setting.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate and competent in a range of Microsoft and web based programs
