- Install, configure, and maintain IMS TM and IMS DB subsystems
- Apply IMS maintenance (PTFs, RFEs) and manage SMP/E activities
- Monitor IMS performance and implement tuning recommendations
- Provide problem determination and resolution for IMS abends, database corruptions, and transaction issues
- Support IMS backup and recovery strategies (DBRC, IMS LOG)
- Manage IMS security in coordination with RACF administrators
- Collaborate with application and DBA teams on IMS database design and change activities
- Support IMS Connect and MFS screen management
Requirements
- 5+ years of IMS systems programming experience in a production z/OS environment
- Strong knowledge of IMS TM (MPPs, BMP, IFP) and IMS DB (DL/I, HIDAM, HDAM)
- Experience with IMS utilities, DBRC, and recovery procedures
- Proficiency with JCL, ISPF, SDSF, and z/OS basics
- Familiarity with IMS Connect and TCP/IP integration
- Knowledge of IMS catalog and directory management
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Must be available to work core Texas (CT) business hours

Role Overview
- IQ Plus Tech is recruiting an IMS Systems Programmer for a 4–6 month contract at a major US based financial/enterprise client.
- The successful candidate will maintain and support the IMS hierarchical database and transaction management environment, ensuring stability, performance, and availability of critical legacy workloads.

- IMS related IBM certifications.
