Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant HV/EHV substation engineering and design experience.
- Strong hands-on primary design experience for GIS and/or AIS substations.
- Experience with voltage levels from 66kV up to 400kV.
- Ability to independently prepare and review layouts, equipment arrangements, specifications, calculations, and drawings.
- Strong knowledge of HV primary equipment, including transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, breakers, disconnectors, CTs, VTs/CVTs, surge arresters, and busbars.
- Experience with earthing, lightning protection, cable routing, and associated substation systems.
- Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and international engineering practices.
- Coordination experience with Secondary/P&C, Civil, SCADA/Telecom, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
Preferred qualifications
- International EPC or power transmission project experience is strongly preferred.
- UAE/GCC experience is an advantage.
- Candidates currently based in the UAE are highly preferred.

- The role requires direct engineering and detailed design experience.
- Profiles focused mainly on site construction, installation, testing, or commissioning may not be suitable.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on engineering and detailed design of HV/EHV substation primary systems.
- Prepare and review substation layouts and equipment arrangements.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, design calculations, and engineering drawings.
- Design and assess primary systems for GIS and AIS substations across 66kV to 400kV voltage levels.
- Apply knowledge of transformers, switchgear, breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, surge arresters, and busbar systems.
- Design or review earthing, lightning protection, cable routing, and associated substation systems.
- Coordinate engineering activities with Secondary/P&C, Civil, SCADA/Telecom, vendors, and other disciplines.
- Deliver engineering and detailed design work for international power EPC projects.
