Job Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our client team in the UAE.
  • The successful candidate will ensure compliance with OHS regulations and promote a safe, healthy, and accident free work environment across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and support Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to employees on health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver OHS training and awareness programs for employees and management.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend preventive and corrective measures to mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Monitor work activities to ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Identify and stop unsafe acts, conditions, or processes that may pose a risk to personnel or property.
  • Oversee safety aspects of construction activities, repairs, installations, and maintenance work.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, accidents, and emergencies, ensuring timely implementation of risk mitigation measures.
  • Support incident investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in managing workers’ compensation and injury related claims.
  • Conduct site safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training sessions.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer within the GCC region.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in health and safety within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of hazardous materials, risk assessment techniques, and safe work practices.
  • Experience in data analysis, incident reporting, and safety performance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (G Suite) applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities.
  • Demonstrated competence in safety management, people management, and project execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related discipline.
  • Recognized certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) – Mandatory.
