Role Overview
The HIMS Administrator manages patients’ electronic medical records through quantitative and qualitative analysis of patient documentation.
The role ensures record completion requirements are met under Joint Commission International accreditation and DOH/DHA standards.
Responsibilities
- Review patient medical records quantitatively and qualitatively for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Analyze physician documentation and identify missing information, discrepancies, and deficiencies.
- Follow up on incomplete records by issuing deficiency notifications to responsible physicians.
- Validate authorizations and process requests for the release of medical information.
- Scan, upload, and maintain patient records in the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Identify, investigate, and merge duplicate medical record numbers.
- Respond to medical record inquiries and provide documentation support to authorized stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Associate of Science degree in Health Information Technology.
- At least three years of progressive career experience.
- Experience in Health Information Management or a Medical Records Department.
- Ability to use health information system software.
- Knowledge of Protected Health Information.
