Role Overview

The Sonographer performs a wide range of ultrasound procedures while maintaining patient care, safety, and diagnostic accuracy.

The role works closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to support timely and precise diagnosis using advanced imaging technology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform abdominal, obstetric, vascular, pediatric, and general ultrasound examinations.
  • Prepare and position patients, ensuring comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout procedures.
  • Operate and monitor ultrasound equipment and RIS/PACS imaging systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to support accurate diagnosis and clinical outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and imaging data in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Follow Department of Health regulations, JCI standards, and internal quality and safety protocols.
  • Assist with sterile procedures and specialized examinations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, quality assurance, and team development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiography, Radiology Technology, Diagnostic Imaging, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of post-qualification experience in sonography.
  • Valid DOH or DHA license, or eligibility to obtain one, as a Sonographer.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS or PALS certification is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of sonographic procedures, imaging protocols, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and patient interaction skills with cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
