Job Duties
Participate in and comply with EVR’s health and safety programs, procedures and policies
Perform routine preventative maintenance and major equipment repairs
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment problems
Repair major equipment breakdowns
Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble engines, transmissions and other major components
Diagnose and repair cooling, fuel, exhaust, braking, clutch, differential, hydraulic, electrical and lubrication systems
Diagnose, maintain and repair mobile off-road mining equipment
Maintain and repair haul trucks, graders, bulldozers, excavators, shovels, loaders and other heavy equipment
Prepare maintenance reports and service records
Recommend practical and innovative repair solutions
Apply industry best practices when maintaining and repairing equipment
Work with equipment manufactured by CAT, Komatsu, P&H, Hitachi, John Deere, LeTourneau, Volvo, Marion and other manufacturers
Work independently and collaboratively as part of a maintenance team
Employment Requirements:
Canadian Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician, an equivalent recognized trade certification, or sufficient documented training and work experience to be eligible to challenge the applicable Canadian trade certification examination
A valid driver’s licence
Ability to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness and ability to relocate to, or reside within reliable commuting distance of, Sparwood or Elkford, British Columbia
Previous experience maintaining or repairing mobile mining equipment is considered an asset.
