Position Summary

Driving and Transport

• Operate a 10-ton truck safely for transporting materials, equipment, or goods.
• Follow designated routes and schedules provided by supervisors or dispatchers.
• Drive long or short distances depending on operational needs.
• Maintain safe driving practices in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.

Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance

• Conduct daily pre-trip, mid-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Check brakes, lights, tires, steering, fuel, fluid levels, and other critical components.
• Report mechanical issues to the maintenance team promptly.
• Keep the truck clean and in good working condition.

Cargo Handling

• Load and unload goods as required, ensuring correct handling.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Ensure goods are delivered in proper condition and quantity.

Documentation

• Maintain delivery records, trip logs, fuel usage, mileage sheets, and other transportation documents.
• Obtain delivery signatures and submit relevant documents to the office.
• Verify delivery instructions and documentation for transported materials.

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to company safety rules, traffic regulations, and legal road transport requirements.
• Use PPE and follow safety procedures when loading and unloading.
• Report accidents, delays, or hazards immediately.

Communication and Coordination

• Communicate with dispatchers, warehouse supervisors, and customers.
• Coordinate routes, schedules, and cargo requirements with team members.
• Notify supervisors of changes or issues encountered during trips.

Qualifications and Skills

• Hold a valid heavy vehicle license appropriate for 10-ton trucks.
• Have 2–5 years of heavy-truck driving experience, or experience specified by the employer.
• Know traffic laws and road safety regulations.
• Perform basic truck maintenance and safety checks.
• Demonstrate communication and time management skills.
• Be physically able to assist with loading and unloading when required.

Working Conditions
