The position works with corporate and SME clients to structure solutions for international trade needs and ensure timely transaction execution.
The role collaborates with product, technology, risk, and legal teams to integrate trade finance into Monfi’s digital platform.
The position includes team building, policy development, process improvement, and business development across key trade corridors.
Responsibilities
- Lead trade finance operations, risk, compliance, product development, and service growth.
- Work with corporate and SME clients to understand trade needs and structure tailored solutions.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team.
- Establish policies and procedures for the trade finance function.
- Drive business development initiatives in commodity markets and international trade corridors.
Qualifications
- Strong trade finance and finance expertise, including complex product and portfolio management.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade and global trade regulations.
- Practical experience with letters of credit, collections, guarantees, standby letters of credit, documentation, and risk assessment.
- Understanding of commodity markets, trade structures, pricing, and risk management.
- Proven leadership experience in banking or a financial institution, preferably in trade finance or corporate banking.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with digital banking platforms, trade finance technology, and process automation is beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
- An MBA or professional trade finance certification is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication is required; additional relevant languages are a plus.
