Join Etqan Global Academy in Doha as Head of Secondary for a newly established IB World School.
Provide visionary leadership across the secondary school, drive academic excellence, develop staff, and build a culture of high aspiration and international-mindedness.
The Role
- Provide strategic leadership aligned with the IB MYP philosophy and the school strategic plan.
- Champion concept-driven and inquiry-based teaching and learning.
- Lead and develop the secondary teaching team through coaching, appraisal, and continuing professional development.
- Drive school improvement through monitoring, evaluation, data analysis, and self-review.
- Build relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
- Collaborate with senior leaders on the School Improvement Plan.
- Oversee student welfare, pastoral care, timetabling, curriculum planning, and academic reporting.
- Promote student agency, the IB learner profile, and international-mindedness.
The Successful Candidate
- Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent, plus a relevant degree.
- Significant senior leadership experience in an IB school and strong knowledge of the MYP.
- Track record of school improvement and raising student outcomes.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teaching teams.
- Excellent data literacy and ability to use assessment information to drive improvement.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
- International school experience, ideally in the Middle East, is desirable.
