Role Overview This is a strategic supply, margin, availability and supplier-control role, not an administrative buying function. The Head of Purchasing & Supplier Operations owns supplier relationships and commercial terms, brand and product availability, cost and margin control, supplier SLA performance, backup supplier coverage, supplier issue escalation and recovery, procurement governance, and product/catalogue commercial health. Purchasing must own supplier performance and margin, not just supplier orders. Job requirements Minimum 6–8 years experience in purchasing, supplier management or supply chain, with at least 3 years in a senior role Mandatory Prior experience in the gift card, digital gifting, e-commerce or prepaid voucher industry Mandatory Proven experience owning gross margin control, supplier negotiations and commercial terms Mandatory Experience building backup supplier coverage and managing supplier concentration risk Mandatory Strong commercial acumen, able to detect margin leakage, FX variance and cost movements Experience designing procurement governance frameworks, approval matrices and supplier scorecards Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for margin reporting and supplier performance analysis Experience working with UAE or GCC-based suppliers Job responsibilities Supplier Strategy & Relationship Management Own the supplier and brand sourcing strategy across all Bamboo Card markets Manage key supplier relationships Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, credit terms, SLAs and settlement cycles Ensure high-demand brands have reliable supply coverage Build backup supplier options for critical brands and countries Approve supplier onboarding and lead supplier risk reviews Commercial Control & Margin Protection Monitor purchasing margins and cost movements Prevent negative-margin transactions and flag FX variance and currency mismatch risk Own preferred supplier routing by margin and reliability Coordinate with Finance on payments, credit limits and supplier balances Report weekly purchasing risks and margin performance to VP Operations Procurement Governance & Controls Own procurement SOPs and approval controls Maintain supplier master list and contact matrix Ensure monthly supplier scorecards are completed for top suppliers Maintain approval matrix for margin-risk purchases and new supplier onboarding Maintain backup supplier map for critical brands Ensure purchase records are clean, documented and auditable at all times Cross-Pillar Accountability Own all supplier escalation and commercial accountability, Customer Support captures the issue; Purchasing owns supplier communication Coordinate with Customer Experience on supplier-related complaints Coordinate with Delivery Operations on stock and code availability Coordinate with Finance on FX and settlement impact Job benefits Competitive salary package aligned to the UAE market Visa sponsorship provided Health insurance coverage Real opportunity to grow with the business and take on expanded responsibilities over time Be part of Bamboo Card's next chapter as we scale our platform and expand across new markets Work within a collaborative, entrepreneurial team that values ownership and impact
