- Develop and execute the operational strategy in alignment with the company's overall business objectives
- Oversee the execution of commodity trades, ensuring timely and accurate order processing, settlement, and confirmation
- Implement and manage risk management processes and controls to minimize trading and operational risks
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and reporting obligations related to trading operations
- Build, lead, and mentor a high performing operations team
- Manage relationships with third party vendors and service providers
- Continuously assess and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures within the operations department
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in commodity trading operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Deep knowledge of commodity markets, trading instruments, and industry regulations
- Strong understanding of risk management and compliance in the commodity trading sector
- Experience in an O&G Commodity Trading company is preferred
- Possess good understanding of marine chartering, logistics, refinery operations, and supply/demand fundamentals

Role Overview

Technical Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the operational strategy in alignment with the company's overall business objectives.
- Oversee the execution of commodity trades, ensuring timely and accurate order processing, settlement, and confirmation.
- Implement and manage risk management processes and controls to minimize trading and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and reporting obligations related to trading operations.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high performing operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with third party vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring quality of service.
- Continuously assess and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures within the operations department.
- Effectively communicate with internal teams, traders, and external partners to ensure smooth operations and resolve any operational issues promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in commodity trading operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
