Freedom Broker Global Markets is part of Freedom Holding Corp., an international financial services group.
The group is establishing a new UAE mainland brokerage and is completing its licensing process with the UAE Capital Market Authority.
The brokerage will provide global financial products and investment services with emphasis on operational excellence, compliance, client service, and risk management.
About the Role
The Head of Operations will establish and lead the Operations function of the new UAE mainland brokerage.
The role covers brokerage and investment operations, client onboarding, trade processing, clearing and settlement, reconciliations, client assets, and operational controls.
This is a leadership role focused on building scalable and compliant operational infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities
- Establish and lead Operations processes, controls, and operating procedures.
- Oversee client onboarding and account-opening operations.
- Manage trade processing, clearing, settlement, and reconciliations across the trade lifecycle.
- Oversee investment operations, corporate actions, cash and securities movements, and portfolio servicing.
- Safeguard, segregate, and reconcile client money and assets.
- Manage relationships with banks, custodians, brokers, clearing houses, exchanges, and other service providers.
- Implement and continuously improve back-office systems and operational automation.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulatory requirements, policies, and reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Finance, Legal, IT, Sales, and senior management.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Operations team.
Experience and Skills
- At least five years of relevant brokerage, securities, investment, or capital-markets operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle management, clearing and settlement, custody, reconciliations, corporate actions, and client asset servicing.
- UAE-regulated brokerage, investment firm, bank, or financial institution experience is highly desirable.
- Experience establishing operational processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Experience with trading, custody, and back-office systems.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder-management, analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications and Regulatory Approval
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or another relevant discipline is required.
- The successful candidate must satisfy applicable CMA fit-and-proper and regulatory approval requirements for relevant approved functions.
- UAE Financial Rules and Regulations and Global Securities Operations qualifications are preferred.
- Relevant CISI or other financial-markets or securities-operations qualifications are advantageous.
- Candidates without required regulatory qualifications may be supported in obtaining them, subject to CMA requirements.
