Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal legal advisor to the Group’s management, boards, and operating entities
- Provide legal and strategic advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory, governance, operational, and reputational matters
- Identify, assess, and manage legal risks affecting the Group and its subsidiaries
- Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and internal governance frameworks
- Draft, review, negotiate, and oversee a broad range of commercial agreements and corporate documentation
- Advise on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, investments, financing transactions, and strategic projects
- Support business units on operational and contractual matters across the Group
- Ensure legal protection of the Group’s interests in all commercial dealings and transactions
- Advise on directors’ duties, corporate governance obligations, delegated authorities, and shareholder matters
- Ensure compliance with applicable UAE laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and internal policies
- Liaise with regulators, governmental authorities, auditors, and external advisors where required
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise management on their impact on the Group
Requirements
- Law degree from a recognized university
- Qualified lawyer/admitted legal practitioner in home jurisdiction in good standing
- Minimum 20 years’ post qualification legal experience gained within the UAE
- Must currently hold, or have held, a similar senior in house legal position within a corporate group, conglomerate, multinational, or large private organization
- Strong experience in corporate, commercial, governance, regulatory, and dispute related matters
- Demonstrated experience advising senior management and boards on complex legal and strategic matters
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken, is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of UAE legal and regulatory frameworks

Role Overview
- The Head of Legal shall lead and oversee the legal affairs of a multidisciplinary group of companies operating across multiple sectors and jurisdictions in the UAE.
- The role is responsible for managing the Group’s legal function, providing strategic legal advice to management and boards, overseeing legal risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing disputes, governance, commercial transactions, and external legal counsel.
- The role requires a senior in house legal professional with substantial UAE experience, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to manage complex and sensitive legal matters at Group level.
