Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Group's Industrial Sector strategy aligned with corporate objectives
- Identify new industrial investment opportunities within Qatar and international markets
- Lead greenfield factory development including feasibility studies, financial modeling, factory master planning, and commissioning
- Provide executive oversight for EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and project management
- Develop and oversee manufacturing operations including production planning, lean manufacturing, and quality management
- Manage CAPEX planning, operational budgets, and financial performance across industrial businesses
- Develop sourcing strategies for raw materials and negotiate strategic supplier agreements
- Ensure compliance with Qatar industrial regulations, environmental legislation, and occupational health & safety standards
- Lead digital transformation including ERP systems, MES, and Industry 4.0 initiatives
- Establish organizational structure, recruit executive leadership, and build high performing teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
- MBA or Master's Degree in Engineering Management highly preferred
- Minimum 20 years of industrial manufacturing experience
- At least 10 years in executive leadership roles
- Proven experience establishing multiple greenfield manufacturing facilities from concept to commercial operation
- Experience leading industrial businesses with revenues exceeding USD 100 million preferred
- International experience within the GCC highly desirable

Role Overview
- The Head of Industrial Sector will be responsible for establishing, developing, and leading the Group's Industrial Sector, with an initial focus on steel and copper manufacturing.
- The role will lead end to end development of greenfield manufacturing projects from investment opportunity assessment through operational excellence and commercial growth.
- The successful candidate will be an experienced industrial executive with a proven track record of establishing heavy industrial manufacturing facilities from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Group's Industrial Sector strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Identify new industrial investment opportunities within Qatar and international markets.
- Lead strategic planning and long term industrial expansion initiatives.
- Present investment recommendations and business cases to the Board of Directors and Executive Management.
- Drive sustainable growth and profitability across all industrial businesses.
Industrial Business Development
- Identify opportunities in steel, copper, aluminum, metal fabrication, industrial manufacturing, and related sectors.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis.
- Develop investment strategies and expansion plans.
- Build strategic partnerships with international manufacturers, technology providers, and investors.
- Lead mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances where applicable.
Greenfield Factory Development
- Lead the complete establishment of manufacturing facilities including market and technical feasibility studies.
- Oversee financial modeling, factory master planning, manufacturing process selection, and technology evaluation.
- Manage equipment specification, procurement, production line design, and factory layout optimization.
- Coordinate utility planning, capacity planning, automation systems, and smart manufacturing solutions.
- Lead factory commissioning, production startup, and ramp up to full commercial operation.
Engineering & Project Management
- Provide executive oversight for EPC contractors and engineering consultants.
- Manage civil, mechanical, and electrical works, infrastructure development, and utilities installation.
- Oversee equipment installation, factory commissioning, project schedules, budget management, and risk management.
Manufacturing Operations
- Develop and oversee production planning, manufacturing excellence, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Implement continuous improvement programs, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and operational excellence.
- Manage quality management systems, maintenance strategy, warehouse operations, and inventory management.
- Optimize supply chain and drive productivity improvements while reducing manufacturing costs.
Financial Management
- Responsible for CAPEX planning, operational budgets, and manufacturing cost optimization.
- Conduct investment evaluation, financial forecasting, and profitability improvement.
- Drive EBITDA growth, ROI achievement, and working capital optimization.
- Monitor financial performance across all industrial businesses.
Commercial & Supply Chain Leadership
- Develop sourcing strategies for raw materials and negotiate strategic supplier agreements.
- Build relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Support commercial teams in market expansion and optimize procurement and logistics operations.
- Ensure uninterrupted production through efficient supply chain management.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Qatar industrial regulations, environmental legislation, and occupational health & safety standards.
- Adhere to ISO standards, industrial licensing requirements, civil defense requirements, and ministry approvals.
- Maintain international manufacturing standards.
Digital Transformation
- Lead implementation of ERP systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Drive industrial automation, predictive maintenance technologies, production analytics, and smart factory initiatives.
