  • One of our fastest growing strategic business units is Food & Groceries, where users can discover restaurants, order meals, purchase groceries, and complete transactions through an AI powered conversational experience.
  • We are looking for a commercially driven Head of Food & Groceries to build, launch, and scale one of the region's most ambitious AI powered commerce platforms.

Role Overview

  • The Head of Food & Groceries will own the complete Food & Grocery vertical, including commercial strategy, merchant acquisition, marketplace growth, customer experience, operations, and profitability.
  • This executive leadership role is responsible for transforming Superchat into one of the leading AI powered food and grocery marketplaces.
  • You will work directly with the CEO and executive leadership team while collaborating closely with Product, Growth, Marketing, Operations, Payments, AI, Customer Success, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Food & Groceries business unit and its full P&L.
  • Develop annual and quarterly business strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Define growth targets, revenue plans, and profitability goals.
  • Identify new revenue streams and expansion opportunities.
  • Manage budgets and optimize operating costs while maximizing customer value.
  • Develop merchant acquisition strategy and recruit merchants.
  • Build relationships with enterprise merchants and national brands.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and commission structures.
  • Develop exclusive partnerships that differentiate Superchat.
  • Expand merchant coverage across new cities and countries.
  • Work closely with Operations teams to optimize merchant onboarding, menu and catalog quality, inventory management, order fulfillment, delivery operations, merchant SLA performance, and customer support processes.
  • Collaborate with Product and AI teams to improve merchant onboarding experience, AI ordering capabilities, search and discovery, personalization, recommendation engines, merchant dashboards, and customer ordering experience.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Food Delivery, Grocery Delivery, Marketplace Businesses, Quick Commerce, E commerce, or Consumer Technology.
  • 5+ years leading commercial or marketplace teams.
  • Proven P&L ownership.
  • Experience scaling regional or international marketplaces.
  • Experience with high growth technology companies or startups.
  • Strong understanding of marketplace economics, unit economics, GMV optimization, customer acquisition, merchant acquisition, category management, pricing strategies, promotional planning, and commission models.
  • Exceptional people leadership skills.
  • Experience managing cross functional teams.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management.
  • Executive communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking with operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical capabilities including financial modeling, commercial reporting, marketplace analytics, and forecasting.

Key KPIs

  • Commercial: GMV, Revenue, Gross Margin, Contribution Margin, EBITDA contribution.
  • Marketplace: Active merchants, Merchant acquisition, Merchant retention, Merchant satisfaction, Merchant SLA compliance.
  • Customer: Monthly Active Users (MAU), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), Repeat purchase rate, Average order value, Order frequency, Customer retention, Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Operations: Order success rate, Fulfillment time, Delivery SLA, Cancellation rate, Refund rate.
  • Growth: New city launches, Market expansion, New merchant categories, Partnership revenue.

  • Build one of the strongest restaurant and grocery marketplaces in the region.
  • Successfully launch and scale multiple cities and markets.
  • Deliver significant GMV and revenue growth.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with leading restaurant and grocery brands.
  • Improve customer acquisition, retention, and order frequency.
  • Build a scalable merchant operations organization.
  • Create AI powered customer experiences that differentiate Superchat from traditional food delivery platforms.
