About the Role
Standard Chartered Bank seeks a Head of International Markets Oversight for MENAP, ASA, and GCNA regions within Global Markets Operations. You will lead the Global Trading Middle Offices for Credit, managing a team of ~65 across multiple locations.

- Lead the Global Trading Middle Offices for Credit (Credit Flow & Repo, Structured Credit, Loans, Issuance, GCM)
- Manage an organisation of c.65 employees across NYC, London, Warsaw, Dubai, Bangalore, Singapore, KL, Hong Kong
- Instil effective and robust operating models within the Global Credit Middle Office
- Incorporate strong risk & control frameworks, clear & concise policies & procedures
- Delivery of the roadmap aligned with the strategy for Middle Office
- Represent the Global Credit and Commodities Middle Office in key business meetings & forums
- Provide effective challenge across the organisation to ensure remediation actions
- Become a trusted advisor to Credit Senior FO management to enable their strategy and vision
- Optimise the Follow the Sun (FTS) model in Middle Office functions
- Drive global consistency and transparency by defining and maintaining a premium catalogue of services
Requirements
- Strong understanding of IB / Markets businesses, product life cycle, and the operating environment
- Previous experience in leading global teams across the Operations lifecycle – Global Middle Office Management, Operations Lead, Risk Mgmt.
- Evidenced track record of high profile project delivery (Regulatory, External / Internal Policy, Industry Standards, Technology)
- Leadership – Strong personal brand with the gravitas and presence to create a movement
- External network with awareness of the latest industry developments
- Strategic mindset & forward thinking vision
- Strength in problem solving, process re engineering and project management
- Data driven mindset – Able to use data to produce a story and present a roadmap

Job Summary
- The Global Trading Operations (GTO) brings together the Global Markets Middle Office Team, In Country Markets Operations, Markets Reference Data, Markets Trade Control & Supervision and the CoE footprint.
- Reporting directly to the Global Head of Trading Operations and Int Markets Oversight, the successful candidate will lead the Global Trading Middle Offices for Credit.
- The Global Markets Middle Office is a trusted partner to the business and delivers operational efficiency and superior risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities Strategy
- Instil effective and robust operating models within the Global Credit Middle Office
- Incorporate strong risk & control frameworks, clear & concise policies & procedures
- Delivery of the roadmap aligned with the strategy for Middle Office
- Represent the Global Credit and Commodities Middle Office in key business meetings & forums
- Provide effective challenge across the organisation to ensure remediation actions
- Become a trusted advisor to Credit Senior FO mgmt. to enable their strategy and vision

- Management of the Global Credit Middle Office Group across US, UK, Europe, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and India

- Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment
- Drive new business initiatives to aid revenue and growth priorities

- Ownership and stewardship of the Middle Office catalogue of services and process universe
- Document best practices and guidance for process execution
- Provide direction to processing and control functions within Middle Office
- Optimise and automate processes to reduce exposure to manual and operational risk intensive processes

- Manage performance effectively through 1 2 1s and skip meetings

- Own, drive, and / or participate in remediation programs to mitigate risk
- Develop and maintain documentation that will provide minimum standards and guidance
- Ensure adherence to the Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk Frameworks
