Job Summary

  • The Global Trading Operations (GTO) brings together the Global Markets Middle Office Team, In Country Markets Operations, Markets Reference Data, Markets Trade Control & Supervision and the CoE footprint.
  • Reporting directly to the Global Head of Trading Operations and Int Markets Oversight, the successful candidate will lead the Global Trading Middle Offices for Credit.
  • The Global Markets Middle Office is a trusted partner to the business and delivers operational efficiency and superior risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities Strategy

  • Instil effective and robust operating models within the Global Credit Middle Office
  • Incorporate strong risk & control frameworks, clear & concise policies & procedures
  • Delivery of the roadmap aligned with the strategy for Middle Office
  • Represent the Global Credit and Commodities Middle Office in key business meetings & forums
  • Provide effective challenge across the organisation to ensure remediation actions
  • Become a trusted advisor to Credit Senior FO mgmt. to enable their strategy and vision

Key Responsibilities Business

  • Management of the Global Credit Middle Office Group across US, UK, Europe, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and India
  • Optimise the Follow the Sun (FTS) model in Middle Office functions
  • Drive global consistency and transparency by defining and maintaining a premium catalogue of services and capability matrix
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment
  • Drive new business initiatives to aid revenue and growth priorities

Key Responsibilities Processes

  • Ownership and stewardship of the Middle Office catalogue of services and process universe
  • Document best practices and guidance for process execution
  • Provide direction to processing and control functions within Middle Office
  • Optimise and automate processes to reduce exposure to manual and operational risk intensive processes

Key Responsibilities People & Talent

  • Manage performance effectively through 1 2 1s and skip meetings
  • Promote a speak up culture within the team
  • Engagement – Foster a one team culture
  • Ensure alignment with Span of Control guidelines
  • Be a strong culture carrier for the organisation

Key Responsibilities Risk Management

  • Define strategy for processes and technology needed for controlled growth
  • Regular review of the control framework to progress towards a preventative, and automated control landscape
  • Own, drive, and / or participate in remediation programs to mitigate risk
  • Develop and maintain documentation that will provide minimum standards and guidance
  • Ensure adherence to the Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk Frameworks

  • Embed strong & effective governance principles across the Middle Office organisation
  • Develop metrics to monitor business processes
  • Model supervisory behaviours and embed into BAU across span of control
  • Provide effective challenge on forums
