Daikan Izakaya is seeking a Head Chef to lead its culinary team.
The Head Chef will oversee kitchen operations, menu planning, and food production while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage kitchen staff while fostering teamwork and cooperation.
- Design and innovate menus reflecting the restaurant vision, culinary trends, seasonal ingredients, and guest preferences.
- Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency standards.
- Monitor food preparation for compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen management.
- Oversee inventory, stock rotation, suppliers, ingredient sourcing, and food costs.
- Manage kitchen operations for timely meal preparation and service.
- Optimize workflows and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Engage with guests to gather feedback and address concerns.
- Uphold hygiene and safety standards for the kitchen and staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar high-volume kitchen role.
- Expert knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culinary techniques.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse team.
- Creativity and passion for food presentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
