Haisla Community School Teacher

Reporting to the HCS Principal, the HCS Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in Kindergarten to Grade 7 within the Haisla Community School. This includes providing engaging instruction in various subjects using different teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles; supporting the holistic development of students by merging traditional lessons with modern education plans; and assessing students and providing constructive feedback.

The HCS Teacher will work closely with community members, parents, and other educators to create a culturally responsive, supportive and inclusive learning environment for the students.

The Haisla Nation is the band government of the Haisla people. Our mission is to build a powerful, prosperous and proud community, healthy in mind, body and spirit. We are about 2023+ people, with approximately 700 living in Kitamaat Village. We have lived off the land and waters of our traditional territory for thousands of years, and it remains the focus of all we do.
