- Deliver interactive classroom and practical workshop sessions in Floristry
- Teach floristry fundamentals including floral design principles, flower identification, color theory, bouquet making, floral arrangements, corsages, wreaths, table centerpieces, and event floral styling
- Demonstrate proper handling, conditioning, storage, and care of fresh flowers, foliage, and floral materials
- Train learners in the use of floristry tools, equipment, and materials while promoting safe working practices
- Prepare lesson plans, demonstrations, practical activities, and instructional materials aligned with course objectives
- Supervise hands on workshops and provide constructive feedback to support learner development
- Assess learner performance through practical projects, assignments, and demonstrations
- Introduce learners to current floristry trends, sustainable floral practices, and innovative floral design techniques
- Encourage creativity, attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent customer service skills
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, Diploma, Professional Certification, or equivalent qualification in Floristry, Floral Design, Horticulture, Event Design, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in floristry, floral design, flower retail, event decoration, or a related industry
- Demonstrated expertise in floral arrangements, bouquet design, event floristry, flower care, and floral styling
- Previous teaching, lecturing, training, mentoring, workshop facilitation, or instructional experience
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to demonstrate practical floristry techniques in a workshop environment

Job Summary
- Kingston Education Training Centre is seeking an experienced Guest Lecturer in Floristry to deliver engaging theoretical and practical training sessions.
- The successful candidate will equip learners with the knowledge and hands on skills required to create professional floral arrangements while promoting creativity, design principles, customer service, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive classroom and practical workshop sessions in Floristry.
- Teach floristry fundamentals, including floral design principles, flower identification, color theory, bouquet making, floral arrangements, corsages, wreaths, table centerpieces, and event floral styling.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in Floristry, Floral Design, Horticulture, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in floral boutiques, event companies, wedding planning, hospitality, or retail floral businesses.
- Experience delivering vocational or professional floristry training programs.
- Knowledge of wedding florals, corporate event decorations, sympathy arrangements, seasonal floral design, and sustainable floristry practices.
- Experience preparing learners for employment or entrepreneurship within the floristry industry is an advantage.
