- Deliver interactive classroom and practical laboratory sessions in Computer Science
- Teach subjects such as programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, database systems, operating systems, computer networks, software engineering, web development, cybersecurity fundamentals, and object oriented programming
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, laboratory exercises, assignments, and learning resources
- Demonstrate programming concepts through practical examples and hands on coding exercises
- Guide learners in developing, testing, debugging, and documenting software applications
- Assess learner performance through assignments, quizzes, practical projects, presentations, and examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback
- Encourage critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and professional ethics in computing
- Support learners in understanding current technologies, industry trends, and best practices
- Maintain an inclusive, engaging, and professional learning environment
- Comply with the institution's academic policies, assessment procedures, and quality standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software development, IT, or related technical field
- Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, C#, or JavaScript
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, databases, networking, operating systems, and software development principles
- Previous teaching, lecturing, training, mentoring, or instructional experience
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Job Summary
- Kingston Education Training Centre is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Guest Lecturer in Computer Science to deliver engaging theoretical and practical training sessions.
- The successful candidate will equip learners with foundational and advanced computer science concepts while promoting analytical thinking, problem solving, and industry relevant technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive classroom and practical laboratory sessions in Computer Science.
- Teach subjects such as programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, database systems, operating systems, computer networks, software engineering, web development, cybersecurity fundamentals, and object oriented programming.
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, laboratory exercises, assignments, and learning resources that support course objectives.
- Demonstrate programming concepts through practical examples and hands on coding exercises.
- Guide learners in developing, testing, debugging, and documenting software applications.
- Assess learner performance through assignments, quizzes, practical projects, presentations, and examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development, information technology, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, C#, or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, databases, networking, operating systems, and software development principles.
- Previous teaching, lecturing, training, mentoring, or instructional experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deliver both theoretical instruction and practical laboratory sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications relevant to Computer Science or Information Technology (such as AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, CompTIA, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching at a college, university, vocational institute, or professional training center.
- Experience with modern software development tools, version control systems, cloud computing, or DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, mobile application development, cybersecurity, or cloud technologies is an advantage.
- Experience preparing learners for industry certifications or employment in the technology sector.
