Job Summary

The Group Financial Controller oversees corporate accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, cash flow, taxation, budgeting, and financial control across multiple entities.

The role manages Finance Managers, Accountants, and finance support staff while maintaining a hands-on approach.

The position ensures accurate financial information, strong controls, IFRS compliance, risk management, and statutory deadline adherence.

Accounting and Reporting

  • Lead corporate accounting across Group entities and holding company entities.
  • Ensure ledgers, accounting policies, controls, and reporting processes are accurate, complete, timely, and effective.
  • Monitor transaction flows from source systems through interfaces into the General Ledger.
  • Lead consolidated Group financial statements and reporting in accordance with IFRS.
  • Prepare management reports and financial information for senior management and the Group CFO.

Treasury and Planning

  • Manage Group cash flow within available banking facilities and prepare liquidity reports.
  • Monitor working capital and funding requirements and identify cash flow risks.
  • Support asset financing and other corporate finance activities.
  • Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, three-to-five-year projections, and business plans.
  • Analyze actual performance against budgets and forecasts and provide financial insights.

Investment, Audit, and Compliance

  • Evaluate capital investment proposals using NPV, IRR, payback period, ROI, and other financial metrics.
  • Manage statutory audits, external auditor relationships, audit documentation, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee Zakat, VAT, withholding tax, customs duty, and other applicable statutory returns.
  • Monitor Saudi tax and Zakat regulations and assess their impact on the Group.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties, and authorization controls.

Leadership and Stakeholders

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Finance Managers, Accountants, and finance support staff.
  • Set objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations and identify training needs.
  • Build relationships with business unit leaders, senior management, the Group CFO, auditors, tax advisors, Treasury, and other departments.
  • Communicate financial matters effectively to non-finance stakeholders and support strategic financial decisions.

Functional Competencies

  • Group financial controlling, management and statutory accounting, and group consolidation.
  • IFRS reporting, cash flow and treasury management, budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial planning.
  • Three-to-five-year financial projections, capital investment evaluation, and NPV, IRR, and payback analysis.
  • Zakat, tax, VAT, withholding tax, customs duty, internal and external audit, and financial risk management.
  • Internal controls, governance, ERP or finance systems, and management reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience as a Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller, or Group Finance Manager.
  • Significant experience in large, diversified groups and KSA or GCC or Middle East environments.
  • Experience in group consolidation, IFRS reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Practical experience preparing and filing Saudi Zakat, VAT, withholding tax, and other tax returns.
  • Experience managing statutory audits and working with external auditors.
  • Real estate, retail, manufacturing, or similarly complex multi-entity experience is highly preferred.
  • Big Four audit firm experience at managerial level is highly preferred.
