About the Department

Position Duties

• (These functions are representative and may not be present in all positions in the class. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind related duties and work assignments.) Instructs large groups and maintains control of large class settings. Instructs fitness level I or II progressions and follows the fitness level progressions. Prepares and choreographs class programs with minimal supervision. Teaches classes including, but not limited to, muscle conditioning, step aerobics, spinning, yoga, and Pilates. Gives verbal instructions and simultaneously gives physical demonstrations. Maintains a rhythm; demonstrates safe and effective moves and flexibility exercises. May provide guidance on nutrition and wellness. Maintains own music library, ensures proper and safe operation of aerobic fitness equipment and accessories as it pertains to the class. Provides information to the public on class programs, activities and events at the sports complex. Assists in administering first aid. Must maintain an average of (10) ten participants in class, per session. Performs related duties as required.
