Role overview

Join the software development team in a successful and growing vehicle telematics business unit.

The graduate role provides training, mentoring, and real project experience while contributing to live products.

The work supports a critical telematics platform used for connected vehicle solutions.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal teams and work collaboratively.
  • Assess feature requests and develop technical solutions.
  • Write effective, scalable, and testable code.
  • Integrate user-facing elements into applications.
  • Improve the functionality of existing systems.
  • Test and debug programs.
  • Identify and fix production bugs.

What the employer expects

  • Recent degree in computer science or an equivalent subject.
  • Familiarity with at least one popular Java framework, such as Spring or Netty.
  • Familiarity with an object-relational mapper, such as Hibernate.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies and frameworks, such as Angular, React, Vue, or Next.js.
  • Good problem-solving and technical and non-technical communication skills.
  • Passion for simplifying processes.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and their design, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as DynamoDB, Cassandra, or MongoDB, is beneficial.

Working hours

  • The stated working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Workplace

  • The role is based at the telematics head office at Arden Square, Crewe, Cheshire.
  • The office provides collaborative workspaces, an onsite pizzeria, café, barista station, and rooftop bar.
