Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) - Electrical/Electronics Engineer

What you will do

• Own electrical design and integration activities across Exponent’s battery pack and charging systems.
• Translate system requirements into electrical architectures, component selections, sizing, interfaces, and validation plans.
• Work hands-on with prototypes, instrumentation, testing, debugging, and engineering changes from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Design : Component selection, electrical sizing, fault calculations, protection coordination, and ensuring compliance with applicable design requirements and standards.
• System Integration : Define system boundaries, engineering requirements, and system functions; establish and manage interactions and interfaces within the system and with external systems.
• DFMEA : Conduct detailed Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) at system and component levels to identify potential failure modes, assess risks, and define appropriate mitigation measures.
• Engineering Validation Testing (EVT) : Define and execute engineering validation tests based on failure modes and risks identified through FMEA, ensuring the design meets functional, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) : Perform systematic root cause analysis of issues and defects identified during development, testing, and field operation; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Bug Resolution & Engineering Changes: Identify robust and reliable solutions for design and field issues, perform impact analysis for proposed changes, and own the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process through implementation and closure.
