About the Role

- Build the operating model, frameworks, and capabilities for AI adoption
- Enable business and IDT teams to adopt an automation first mindset
- Bring external and BAT wide innovation into Canada by staying ahead of emerging AI capabilities
- Quantify and articulate the business value of AI initiatives
Requirements
- University degree in IT, data, engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years in technology delivering solutions in a commercial or enterprise environment
- Hands on experience with AI, automation, data or digital solutions (e.g., generative AI, RPA, analytics)
- Experience with AI/LLM platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Copilot), automation platforms (e.g., Power Platform, UiPath), low code/no code, APIs and cloud
- Ability to translate ambiguity into structure and scalable plans
- Strong commercial acumen to quantify and articulate business value
- Sound judgment on data privacy, security, governance and responsible AI
- Excellent communication, storytelling and stakeholder influencing skills
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

Overview

- Imperial Tobacco Canada has an exciting opportunity for an Sr Product Manager – AI & Automation in Montreal.
- You will lead the identification, shaping, and scaling of AI and automation capabilities across the commercial organisation.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Shape and prioritize the AI and automation opportunity pipeline by engaging business stakeholders, identifying high value pain points, and translating ambiguous ideas into structured opportunities.
- Lead AI solutions from concept to scale, moving priority use cases from proof of concept through production in partnership with IDT teams.
- Own the end to end lifecycle of AI use cases, from opportunity discovery through to adoption at scale, ensuring measurable, enterprise level outcomes.
- Embed responsible AI governance and compliance by working with Legal, Risk, the Global AI Hub, and relevant stakeholders.
- Build the operating model, frameworks, and capabilities for AI adoption, defining how solutions move from proof of concept to product.
- Enable business and IDT teams to adopt an automation first mindset, while upskilling and supporting other Business Analysts on AI related initiatives.
- Bring external and BAT wide innovation into Canada by staying ahead of emerging AI, automation, and low code/no code capabilities.
- Quantify and articulate the business value of AI initiatives, measuring outcomes and driving continuous improvement across the portfolio.
What are we looking for?
- University degree in an IT, data, engineering or related discipline – or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- 5+ years in technology, delivering solutions in a commercial or enterprise environment, with a track record of turning ideas into working products.
- Hands on experience with AI, automation, data or digital solutions (e.g., generative AI, RPA/intelligent automation, analytics, integrations).
- A builder’s mindset comfortable being hands on with modern tools—AI/LLM platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Copilot), automation platforms (e.g., Power Platform, UiPath), low code/no code, APIs and cloud.
- Exceptional at translating ambiguity into structure – turning a vague idea into a crisp problem statement, proof of concept and scalable plan.
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior business stakeholders, frame problems and influence what gets built, with strong commercial acumen.
- Sound judgment on data privacy, security, governance and responsible AI, ideally gained within compliance, governance or regulated environments.
- Excellent communication, storytelling and stakeholder influencing skills, thriving amid ambiguity and rapid change.
- Experience in a fast paced commercial environment (FMCG, retail, consumer goods) and bilingualism (English/French) are assets.
