Role Overview

Minor Hotels is seeking a skilled and reliable General Technician to support hotel engineering and maintenance operations.

The role helps maintain a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel.
  • Attend to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, and general building maintenance requests.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, facilities, and equipment.
  • Perform basic air conditioning cleaning and servicing and complete minor repair work.
  • Respond promptly to guest and departmental requests and maintenance emergencies.
  • Complete work safely, efficiently, and to hotel standards.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and clean work areas.
  • Report major defects and equipment failures to the Engineering Supervisor.
  • Assist specialized technicians and contractors when required.
  • Follow health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide support to other Engineering activities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience as a General Technician, Maintenance Technician, or in a similar role is required.
  • Hands-on knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance is required.
  • Hotel, resort, commercial building, or facility management experience is preferred.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Candidates should be safety-conscious, reliable, and service-oriented.
  • Availability for flexible hours, shifts, weekends, and public holidays is required.
  • Candidates must be willing to live and work in a remote resort location.
