Engineering Operations

• Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements for fire, health, and safety licensing.
• Provide the safety equipment required for efficient and safe work.
• Plan and manage preventive maintenance, new projects, extensions, and renovations.
• Monitor energy use and implement measures that reduce hotel energy costs.

Budget and Department Management

• Prepare the property engineering budget and provide engineering input to hotel planning.
• Liaise with People and Culture on employee matters, including recruitment and interviewing.
• Control departmental payroll and business expenditure.

Maintenance and Guest Comfort

• Provide in-house mechanical and electrical servicing, repair, and maintenance.
• Conduct continuous inspections to maintain guest comfort and operational services.
• Prioritize and resolve maintenance requests efficiently.

Team and Project Leadership

• Develop a technically proficient team to perform maintenance and repair work to specification.
• Manage hotel relationships with outside contractors and technical services on major projects.
• Attend technical seminars and exhibitions and review relevant engineering publications.

Qualifications

• Fluent English and the language of the local country are required.
• Certification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is ideally preferred.
• At least five years of operating experience in a hotel engineering department is required.
• Familiarity with the operations and priorities of other hotel operating departments is required.
