Program overview

Qualcomm is recruiting its 2027 Canada internship class for display IP engineering projects in Markham.

The application routes candidates to multiple project-specific internship roles rather than one specific position.

Potential internship roles

Display ASIC Design and Implementation Intern.

Display ASIC Design Verification Intern.

Display ASIC Silicon Validation and Emulation Intern.

Display ASIC System Intern.

Engineering work

  • Contribute to development of the Snapdragon display processor and high-performance processing engines.
  • Gain exposure to hardware design processes, performance and power validation, and customer use cases.
  • Work with display hardware teams across design, verification, validation, emulation, and systems projects.

Minimum qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Available for 16 months from May 2027 through August 2028, with expected graduation in November 2028 or later.
  • Have at least one year of academic programming experience.
  • Have knowledge of programming and scripting, RTL, Verilog or SystemVerilog, digital design, and Linux.
  • Have knowledge of object-oriented programming, VHDL, C, C++, digital circuits, real-time operating systems, and computer hardware.

Preferred qualifications

  • Laboratory equipment experience, including oscilloscopes, is preferred.
  • FPGA project experience is preferred.
  • Synthesis, scripting tools, display interfaces, digital signal processing, FPGA fundamentals, and pixel or video processing are preferred.

Internship program
