Role Overview
The Functional Safety (FuSa) Software Developer is responsible for developing, verifying, and maintaining safety-critical software in compliance with ISO 26262 for automotive electronic systems. The role ensures that software components meet defined ASIL requirements and supports the full safety lifecycle from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities – Functional Safety Engineering
- Implement software safety requirements derived from system and hardware safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 Part 6.
- Develop safety-related embedded software in C/C++.
- Implement safety mechanisms such as watchdogs, redundancy, diagnostics, and safe-state handling.
- Work with MCU-based platforms and RTOS environments.
- Develop unit and integration tests.
- Execute requirement-based testing.
- Support ASIL-compliant verification and coverage analysis.
- Participate in audits and safety reviews.
- Prepare ISO 26262 compliant work products.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, design, code, and tests.
- Support OEM and supplier safety documentation.
Technical Skills
